Slate supports all major eLearning export formats so your courses work with any learning management system. Choose the format that best fits your LMS and tracking requirements.

Free plans include 5 SCORM 1.2 exports. Standard and Pro include unlimited publishing, plus SCORM 2004, xAPI, cmi5, HTML, and Word and PDF. Dynamic SCORM is coming soon as a Pro-only, metred feature with a generous included allowance. Exact usage details will be published at release.
How to export
Section titled “How to export”- Open your course in the Slate Builder
- Click Export in the toolbar
- Choose a category: LMS Package, Document (Word or PDF), or Website
- Configure your options, then click Export
- Download the file when it’s ready
The export runs entirely in your browser; your course data stays on your device during packaging.
What’s included in every export
Section titled “What’s included in every export”All export formats include:
- Full course content - sections, lessons, and all block types
- Media assets - images are bundled in the package; YouTube and Vimeo videos remain as external embeds
- Accessibility features - keyboard navigation, screen reader support, ARIA landmarks, and semantic structure
- Multi-language support - interactive formats include saved translations with an in-player language selector; Word and PDF can export separate documents for every language
- Responsive design - courses adapt to any screen size (interactive formats)
- Locked navigation - if enabled, learners must complete lessons in order (interactive formats)
The Word and PDF formats are flat documents rather than interactive courses, so they cover every block but render media and interactive elements as labelled placeholders or study guides.
Multi-language exports
Section titled “Multi-language exports”Interactive exports bundle all saved translations into one course package. Learners use the language selector in the course player to switch languages.
Word and PDF work differently because they are flat documents. They export the source language as a direct file by default. Turn on Include translated versions to download a ZIP containing a separate Word or PDF file for the source language and every saved translation. See Word & PDF Export for details.

Section titled “LMS compatibility”Slate exports have been validated with SCORM Cloud and are compatible with:
