Process Block

The Process block presents a sequence of actions or stages. Use it for a procedure, workflow, or decision path that learners should read in order. For dated milestones, use the Timeline block.

A new Process block starts with three steps. Each step has a title, a rich text description, and an optional Marker. Leave the marker blank to show the step number. You can add, reorder, or remove steps; the block keeps at least one.

Choose Vertical or Horizontal orientation. Horizontal steps form a sequence across wider screens and remain scrollable when they need more room. On phones and in print, they stack vertically. Two to six steps are usually easiest to scan horizontally.

Choose a Standard, Accent, or Minimal style. Standard shows the default step badges and connectors, Accent adds more colour emphasis, and Minimal reduces decoration. The orientation and style are saved with the block.

Learners read the steps in order. A Process block does not ask for a response or record completion or a score. Links in step descriptions remain usable.

You can also author this block in LESSON.md with ::: process.
