Theme Templates

Theme templates give you a professionally designed starting point. Choose a template and then customize it to match your brand.

Available templates

Slate includes two categories of pre-built templates:

Subtle templates

Clean, minimal designs that work for most courses:

Classic Blue	Clean, professional light theme
Ocean Breeze	Cool blue tones with a calm feel
Forest Green	Natural green palette
Sunset Orange	Warm, energetic orange tones

Bold templates

Dramatic designs with custom CSS for more visual impact:

Bold templates include custom CSS that applies gradient backgrounds, refined typography, and other advanced styling.

Applying a template

1. Open the theme editor for your course
2. Go to the Templates section
3. Click a template to apply it instantly

Applying a template updates your primary color, hover color, outline color, border radius, and spacing. Bold templates also apply custom CSS.

The active template shows a checkmark to indicate which template matches your current settings.

Remix

Click the Remix button to apply a randomly selected theme from a pool of additional color schemes. This is a quick way to explore different looks and find inspiration.

Customizing after applying

Templates are a starting point. After applying a template, you can adjust any setting in the Colors, Fonts, or Layout sections. Your customizations override the template values.

Reusing themes across courses

• Theme Presets — save your current settings as a named preset, then apply it to any course. Set one as your default for new courses. Available on all plans (Free: 1 preset, Standard/Pro: up to 10).
• Export/Import — download your theme as a JSON file and import it into another course, or save an imported theme directly as a preset
