Workspaces

When you join a team, you get a second workspace alongside your existing personal one. You can switch between them at any time, and each workspace has its own courses, media, credits, and storage.

Every Slate account comes with a personal workspace. This is where your own courses, media, and credits live. Your personal workspace runs on whatever plan you signed up for (Free, Standard, or Pro), and that doesn’t change when you join a team.

  • Your personal courses stay yours. They are not visible to your team.
  • Your personal plan limits (storage, credits, course count) still apply in your personal workspace.
  • Joining or leaving a team has no effect on your personal workspace or its contents.

The team workspace is a separate, shared space where your team collaborates on courses. Everything in the team workspace is shared, and all team members have access to Pro features here, regardless of their personal plan.

  • Courses - all team courses are visible to every member
  • Media - uploads go to the team’s shared media library
  • AI credits - all AI features draw from the team’s pooled credit balance
  • Storage - media uploads count against the team’s shared storage quota

For example, if your personal account is on the Free plan, you still get access to all export formats, video uploads, custom fonts, and every other Pro feature when working on team courses. Your personal workspace remains on the Free plan with its own limits.

Some items are saved to your personal account, not to the team workspace:

  • Block templates - saved to your personal template library and not shared with the team
  • Custom fonts - saved to your personal font library and not shared with the team

These are available in both your personal and team workspaces, but other team members cannot see or use your templates and fonts.

Use the workspace switcher in the dashboard header to toggle between your personal and team workspace. When you switch:

  • The course library updates to show courses from the selected workspace
  • The media library shows media uploaded to that workspace
  • AI credit and storage usage reflects the selected workspace’s pool

Your personal courses never appear in the team workspace, and team courses never appear in your personal workspace. The two are completely separate.
