Tags
Tags let you categorize your course library however makes sense for your team. Add tags to courses, then filter the dashboard to instantly scope to a category.
Adding tags to a course
Section titled “Adding tags to a course”- On the dashboard, click the tag icon on any course card
- Type a tag name and press Enter to add it
- Existing tags appear as autocomplete suggestions as you type
- Each course can have up to 10 tags
Tags are displayed on every course card for at-a-glance categorization.
Tag rules
Section titled “Tag rules”- Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
- Maximum 32 characters per tag
- Up to 10 tags per course
- Tags are created automatically when you first use them
Filtering by tag
Section titled “Filtering by tag”- Click the Tags button above your course grid
- Select one or more tags from the dropdown
- The dashboard shows only courses that have all selected tags
- Selected tags appear as removable pills below the search bar
Click the X on any tag pill to remove it from the filter, or click Clear filters to reset.
Removing tags
Section titled “Removing tags”Open the tag manager on a course card and click the X next to any tag to remove it.
Bulk tagging
Section titled “Bulk tagging”During batch import, you can apply tags to all imported courses at once. This is useful for organizing a large library migration by department, status, or content type.
Automatic source tags
Section titled “Automatic source tags”Slate automatically tags courses based on how they were created:
canva- courses generated through the Slate for Canva appslate-import- courses imported from a Slate export packagerise-import- courses imported from a Rise SCORM export
These tags are applied during import or generation and work like any other tag. You can filter by them on the dashboard or remove them if you prefer.
